2nd -27th -   "The Human Race"    To kick off our year, the Council will present an Invitational Exhibition all about people: working, playing, posing or just doing nothing. It promises to be a fun and fascinating show.                          

FEBRUARY 2012
5th - 24th    "Liquid Dreams"

In honor of Black History Month, Artist Clara K. Johnson from Raleigh will show a colorful collection of her abstract, mixed media paintings. .
Opening Reception: Sunday, February 5th from 2:30pm to 4:00pm, hosted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc Jacksonville (NC) Alumnac Chapter

MARCH 2012
4th - 23rd - 34th Annual Student Art Show & Competition

Grades 6 through 12.   Each Middle & High School art teacher submits 8 pieces of work to the competition. This show is always colorful, intriguing and imaginative.Over 100 paintings will be on display. Judge: Karen Baggott.
Awards Reception:  Sunday, March 4, from 2:00 - 4:00pm.

APRIL  2012-
1st - 27th - Onslow Art Society's 50th Spring Art Show

Work by local and region artists on display at the Arts Council.
Take in days are Sunday, March 25 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and Monday 26, 8:30am to 5:00pm.
Last year over 150 paints, photographs and sculptures were entered into this show.
Pick up dates:April 29& 30th.
Judge:Kelly Adams, media Center Director/ Associate Phofessor from the School of Arts & Design ECU

Opening reception: Sunday, April 1st from2:00pm to 4:00pm.

MAY 2012
6th - 25th - "Bahamas Bound"

Stacy Hall, photographer, will show her love the vivid colors of the Bahamas, and the ability to live so closely with nature without the distraction of commerce, shopping and TV, as we were traveling in very remote locations.   ......

Opening reception: Sunday, May 6 @ 2:00pm - 4:00pm.

     

  OCTOBER 2012
7th - 26th - Onslow Art Society's " Images 2012" Juried Art Show

Work by local and region artists on display at the Arts Council. Last year over 150 paints, photographs and sculptures were entered into this show. Take in: Sunday, September 30, 1:00pm to 4:00pm and Monday, October 1, from 8:30am to 4.:30pm. Juried by: TBA

Opening Reception: Sunday, October 7th from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.
Pick up dates:October 30th & 31st.

NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 2012

November 5 - December 24th - COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS'  HOLIDAY SHOWCASE AND SALE     Featuring art, pottery, textiles, stain glass, wood items by Regional Artists.  Come join us for a festive season of Holiday joy, the Council celebrates the holidays with beautifully decorated trees. This is a great way to find just the right item for that special person.
