JANUARY 2010
3rd -29th -   "Art of Onslow"    To kick off our year, the Council will present an Invitational Exhibition in honor of Onslow County's 275th birthday; local artists and photographers will showcase our great County. Take this opportunity to see our region in all its glory by 40 of your favorite artists and photographers.    Reception: Sunday Jan. 3th at 2:00pm.                         

 

FEBRUARY 2010
7th - 26th    "Living Our Legacy, Honoring Our Past, Shaping Our Future in the Arts"

In honor of Black History Month, Oliver Hill, President of Northeast Community Development Corporation, has put together a collection that will showcase paintings, basketweaving, musicand storytelling by artists past and present.Opening Reception: Sunday, February 7th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm

MARCH 2010
7th - 23rd - 32nd Annual Student Art Show & Competition

Grades 6 through 12.   Each Middle & High School submits 8 pieces of work to the competition. This show is always colorful, intriguing and imaginative.   Judge: Pat Boni, artist & teacher for over 15 years in the Onslow School system. Over 100 paintings will be on display. Awards Reception:  Sunday, March 7, from 2:00 - 3:00pm.

APRIL  2010 - Selected works from the Private Collection of the Council for the Arts.

MAY 2010
2nd - 28th - "Spring Show 2010"
Onslow Art Society's 49th Spring Art Show
     
Work by local and region artists on display at the Arts Council.
Take in days are Sunday, April 25, 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and Monday 26 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Last year over 150 paints, photographs and sculptures were entered into this show.
Pick up dates: May 30 & 31.
Judge:Becca Scott Reynolds
Opening reception: Sunday, May1st from2:30pm to 4:00pm.

 JUNE & JULY 2010
 June6th -July 30th "Clay & Ink" Local artists, Johnnie Lee Scott and Libby Jacobi will display thier printmaking and sculpture combining their two styles. Come in and meet these local artists at the Opening Reception: Sunday, June 6, from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.

 

AUGUST  2010
 8nd - 27th - "Manipulated Contemporary" watercolors by New Bern artist Norm Robbins.
Opening reception: Sunday August 8th from 2:30pm to 4:00pm.

  SEPTEMBER 2010
 7th - 24th "Images 2010"Onslow Art Society Fall Juried Art Show
     
Work by artists selected from entries on display at the Council for the Arts.
Take in: Sunday, August 29, 1:00pm to 4:00pm and Monday, August 30, from 8:30am to 4.:30pm. Pick up dates Sunday, September 26, 1:00pm to 4:00pm and Monday, September 27, from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

  OCTOBER 2010
3rd - 29th - "OOPS 2"
Jacksonville based group: Onslow Outdoor Paiters Society (OOPS) will showcase their latest paintings of our surrounding region..
Opening Reception Sunday, October 3th from 2:30pm till 4:00pm.

NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 2010
November 8 - December 24th - COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS'  HOLIDAY SHOWCASE AND SALE     Featuring art, pottery, textiles, stain glass, wood items by Regional Artists.  Come join us for a festive season of Holiday joy, the Council celebrates the holidays with beautifully decorated trees. This is a great way to find just the right item for that special person.
