"Learning From the Masters"
September 2008 - May 2009

"Pathway" & "Flowers" are two of the three paintings the students learned in the June art class. The topic was on mixing colors. The student's works are very good and as you can see, they are learning WHILE having fun creating,

In these two hour classes, art teacher, Penny Craven, will demonstrate and discuss the life and careers of the artists.
All art materials are provided, all the children need is to "dress for mess"
These classes fill up very fast, so call today to be put on our e-mail list.

These classes are supported by the North Carolina Arts Council with funding from the state of North Carolina and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.

In this beautiful array of children's literature, no author is better known and respected than the Greek storyteller, Aesop. Using animals as characters, he served up life lessons and morals in a tasty and digestible cupcake of a story. In Madcap's production, Aesop is an old man recalling three of our best-loved stories re-told by a cast of puppets - and you! Stories include: "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," "The Lion and the Mouse" and "The Hare and the Tortoise."

write-up coming soon

Here is a charming retelling, in four scenes, of the beloved Perrault story of a young girl, mistreated in her own home whose Fairy Godmother comes to her rescue. There are wicked, comic sisters (danced by gentlemen) and a devoted cat. Here too, the Fairy Godmother summons the Four Seasons to dress Cinderella for her dream Ball. At the Ball, she meets her endearing Prince and the rest is fairy tale history.

Cinderella was one of the first works choreographed by Harriet Kinter for the company, is narrated throughout, and danced to a lilting Glazunov score.

All shows are at Northside High School
9:30 am & 11:30 am
