The Regional Project Grants Program (RAP Grant) provides financial support to developing professionals by funding a project pivotal to the advancement of their careers as artists. Proposed projects must be concluded by 06/30/2010 Emerging artists and artists who have completed formal training are encouraged to apply.
The RAP Grant proposals will be due by October 2010 by 5:00 pm

1.Artists practicing all forms may apply for grants.
2. Applicants must be current residents and have resided in one of the following counties for at least one year: Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Halifax, Hertford, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash, North Hampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Pitt, Tyrrell, Washington, Wayne and Wilson Counties in conjunction with the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency.
3. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and cannot be enrolled in a degree or certified program at a high school, college or graduate school within the grant period.
4.Project awards generally range from $500 to $1,000. DO NOT request more than $1,000.
Funds may be awarded for expenses such as promotional presentation, travel, services, supplies, training for projects that will be carried out from the first half of the following calendar year. The Grassroots Arts Program provides an opportunity for community organizations to apply for funding to help with an arts related program that is open to the public. State revenues are channeled through the NC Arts Council.
The Council for the Arts is the designated county
partner
for the Grassroots funds allocated to Onslow County. These funds are
used
for many of the Council's activities as well as distributed as sub
grants
to local organizations.
DEADLINE PASSED FOR THE FY 2009-2010
The Council's Grassroots Grants Review Committee has the discretion to make award recommendations that it feels will best aid the arts in Onslow County. Applicants must be non-profit organizations with tax-exempt status under section 501 (C-3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
